May 13th Fatima and Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament!

May 13th is the anniversary of the First apparition of Our Lady at Fatima. It is also the Feast of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
Our Lord Sent his Holy Mother to Fatima, with his requests for the Church to avert future trials for humanity.

Our Lord by sending his Holy Mother on the 13th of May is speaking in the unfolding of His Providence on the importance of the Eucharist and the Fatima Message!

St. Peter Julian Emyard

In 1868, Saint Peter Julian Eymard first gave the title Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament to Mary in order to honor her in her relationship to the Holy Eucharist and to place her before us as a model in our duties and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.

In 1921 the Sacred Congregation of Rite authorized the Blessed Sacrament Congregations to celebrate each year, on the 13th of May, a "solemn commemoration of the Blessed Virgin," with the intention of honoring Mary under the title of "Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament." This Feast is still celebrated today by all the spiritual sons and daughters of St. Peter Julian Eymard.

Our Lady gives witness in her conduct toward the Blessed Sacrament, we learn from her what ours should be!

"The Eucharist began at Bethlehem in Mary's arms.  It was she who brought to humanity the Bread for which it was famishing, and which alone can nourish it. She it was who took care of that Bread for us. It was she who nourished the Lamb whose life-giving Flesh we feed upon,"- St. Peter Julian Eymard

It is through Mary, the Mother of the Eucharist that fallen humanity will  find its way back to God. God was pleased to come into the world the first time through this simple handmaid and he will also return triumphant at the end of time through her. Our Lady will lead the Church to a happy union with her Divine Spouse if we choose to obey her requests that come from God. Let us follow these requests at Fatima today tomorrow may be too late!

A Prayer to Our Lady
of the Blessed Sacrament

Virgin Mother Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament you are called  “SPIRITUAL VESSEL” and “VESSEL of HONOR.”  --SINGULAR VESSEL OF DEVOTION--Because you carried Jesus in your body. You are the precious vessel which held him.

I can never be as spotless—as exquisitely beautiful as you are.
Yet I want so much to be his vessel too.   I want to be his ciborium, that through me he may give himself as food—to those who are hungry for Him. –I want to be his monstrance, to show him and my faith in him to everyone I come in contact with. I want to be his “vessel of honor”—and, when I go to the sick—to carry him to them.
But to be a spiritual vessel like you,
--I must first be emptied of self and sin.

Help me my Lady of the Blessed Sacrament to make room for your Jesus in my heart. Help me to fight to keep on fighting against all the evil in me. Will you, at the offertory of every Mass said today, ask Jesus to change the badness in me—into his goodness, as truly as the bread is changed into his Body and Blood?

Ask your Jesus in the host I pray you, to fashion me, mold me form me into a “spiritual vessel”—That I may carry him within me always—wherever I go. Amen

"Mane Nobiscum Dominum!" Stay with us Lord! Let Us give Thanks on Corpus Christi for our Greatest Treasure!

St. John Paul II during a  Corpus Christi procession in Rome
St. John Paul II often spoke of the Eucharist calling it "the greatest treasure of the Catholic Church" Yet, sadly how few Catholics appreciate this great gift from God  becoming one with us our spiritual food and drink. Remaining in our midst until the end of time!

Do you really understand  who is present in your tabernacle?

Let us take the time to Thank Our Lord for Remaining with us in the Eucharist. For all the graces and mercies he has bestowed on us in spite of our ingratitude. Thank him for the graces he has bestowed upon you.  Reflect on your life with Christ and see How he nourishes, teaches, strengthens, guides and protects us by uniting intimately with us in Holy Communion.  "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me" Philippians 4:13

United to our Lord sacramentally in Holy Communion we can do all things. He is the the Bread of the strong. All things that are impossible become possible with God, who strengthens us! There is strength in such abundance, we are able to do everything God wants us to do.  If we TRUST! His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. With His grace "we can do all".  I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

 "Mane Nobiscum Dominum!"

Let us like the disciples on the way to Emmaus plead with him to "Remain
with us Lord!"-- "Mane Nobiscum Dominum!" Lk 24:29

Eucharistic procession @ Fatima Shrine

"Stay with us, Lord, for it is almost evening". This was the insistent invitation that the two disciples journeying to Emmaus on the evening of the day of the resurrection addressed to the stranger who had accompanied them on their journey. Weighed down with sadness, they never imagined that this stranger was their  risen Lord .
Yet they felt their hearts burning within them as he spoke to them and "explained" the Scriptures. The light of the Word unlocked the hardness of their hearts and "opened their eyes"  In the shadows of the passing day and the darkness that clouded their spirit, the Lord brought a ray of light which rekindled their hope and led their hearts to yearn for the fullness of light. "Stay with us", they pleaded. And he agreed. Soon afterwards, his face would disappear, yet he would "stay" with them,  as he does also for us hidden in the "breaking of the bread" which opened their hearts and ours to recognize him.

"Man carries within himself another hunger, a hunger that cannot be satisfied with ordinary food."

From Pope Francis' Corpus Christi Homily 2014

It is hunger for life, hunger for love, and hunger for eternity. And the sign of the manna – as the whole experience of the Exodus – contained this dimension also in itself: it was the figure of a food that satisfies this profound hunger that man has. Jesus gives us this food, in fact, He himself is the living bread that gives life to the world (cf. John 6:51).

If we look around us, we realize that there are so many offers of food that do not come from the Lord and which seem to satisfy more. Some nourish themselves with money, others with success and vanity, others with power and pride. However, the food that really nourishes us and satiates us is only that which the Lord gives us! Then we dream of other meals, as the Jews did in the desert, who mourned for the meat and the onions they ate in Egypt, but they forgot that they ate these meals at the table of slavery. In that moment of temptation, they remembered, but their memory was sick, it was a selective memory – a slave memory, not free.

Today, each one of us can ask himself: and I? Where do I want to eat? At what table do I want to nourish myself? At the Lord’s table? Or do I dream of eating tasty foods, but in slavery?  That of the Lord who saves me, or that of the garlic and onions of slavery?   Read more

St. John Paul II & Sr. Lucia

St  John Paul gives Communion to Sr. Lucia
The truth of our union with Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is tested by whether or not we really love our fellow men and women; it is tested by how we treat others, especially our families: husbands and wives, children and parents, brothers and sisters. It is tested by whether or not we try to be reconciled with our enemies, by whether or not we forgive those who hurt us or offend us. It is tested by whether we practice in life what our faith teaches us. We must always remember what Jesus said. "You are my friends if you do what I command you" Jn. 15:14. The Eucharist helps love to triumph in us--love over hatred, zeal over indifference!" St. John Paul II gave at Phoenix Park during his three-day visit to Ireland, from September 29 to October 1, 1979.

The Children of Fatima with

  The HIDDEN JESUS!

Angel gives Communion to shepherd children

The Children at Fatima often referred to Jesus in the Eucharist as the Hidden Jesus. Francisco knowing that he was going to die soon preferred to spend his school time praying to the “Hidden Jesus” in the Tabernacle.  His great concern was to console His sorrowing Lord and the Heart of His Mother.

Let us follow their example of loving prayer and sacrifice to console the Lord who has given us so many graces and helps on our journey to eternity.

A Prayer of Adoration Love and
Thanksgiving to the Hidden Jesus

The following prayer is a beautiful testimony of love and devotion to the Hidden Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The author is unknown to me at this time. I wanted to post this for Corpus Christi to share these beautiful thoughts of Our Humble  Hidden God in the Blessed Sacrament. If anyone recognizes the words and can identify the composer please do comment.

May these words prayed from loving hearts console our Hidden Lord and inflame our hearts to follow him wherever he goes!

O JESUS, HIDDEN GOD,
I CRY TO THEE! O JESUS, HIDDEN LIGHT, I TURN TO THEE! O JESUS, HIDDEN LOVE, I RUN TO THEE!

WITH ALL MY SOUL, I LONG TO BE WITH THEE, AND FEAR NO MORE TO FAIL, OR FALL FROM THEE.

O JESUS DEATHLESS LOVE WHO SEEKEST ME,
THOU, WHO DIDST DIE FOR LONGING LOVE OF ME.
THOU, KING IN ALL THY BEAUTY COME TO ME,
AND GO NO MORE DEAR LORD AWAY FROM ME.

O BEAR WITH ME, TILL I AM LOST IN THEE.
O BEAR WITH ME, TILL I AM FOUND IN THEE.

Bethlehem House of Bread-The Birth of Jesus foreshadows the Blessed Sacrament!

                       Bethlehem House of Bread
The old Hebrew name bêth lehem,
meaning "house of bread"
and has survived till the present day!

The mysteries surrounding the Birth of Jesus
foreshadow the Blessed Sacrament!
After Jesus was born Our Lady wrapped him in swaddling-clothes and laid him in a manger, a place where animals were fed because there was no room for them in the inn.

Particles of the Blessed Sacrament
The Eternal, Loving, Life-Giving
GOLD DUST
by Very Rev. Fr. Alphonsus Maria Duran,MJ
Some portions below are quoted or paraphrased  from Fr. Duran's phamphlet.

“My grandfather was a jeweler and some of my other relatives are also jewelers. I grew up amid the work of jewelers and their jewels.  As we all know, jewels are very precious and costly. Even their dust is carefully saved by the jeweler.

Jewelers calculate that when they carve a ring or a pin, ten percent of the precious metal used, gold for example, is lost in dust. That has to be calculated in the price and the weigh of the jewelery. Jewelers carve their jewels on special metal plates which they clean with a very fine brush in order to save the dust.

One of my cousin jewelers told me that they even wear an overall which is cleaned by a special procedure to save the dust or particles of precious metal that have collected on the clothing. Each particle is carefully saved and used.

Each Particle is Precious Indeed!

This reminds me of the care that the priest who has faith in the presence of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament should have. If such precious care is taken of the jewels of this world, how much more care should be taken of the Body of Christ since our faith tells us that He is really and totally present in each particle of the Most Blessed Sacrament.”

The Eucharistic presence of Christ begins at the moment of the consecration and endures as long as the Eucharistic species subsist. Christ is present  whole and entire in each of the species and whole and entire in each of their parts, In such a way that the breaking of the bread does not divide Christ. (Catechism of the Catholic Church from the second Vatican Council promulgated by Pope John Paul II, 1377, cf. Council of gtrent: DS1641.)

Let us listen to the Word
of St. Cyril of Jerusalem

“Tell me if someone gave you some grains of gold would you not hold them with all carefulness lest you might lose some of them and thereby suffer a loss? Will you not, therefore be much more careful in keeping watch over what is more precious than gold or gems so that not a particle will escape you?” (ca. A.D. 315 A.D. 386 Mystagogic Catecheses)

They Eucharistic Miracle
of Lanciano 750 A.D.

The earliest recorded Eucharistic Miracle in 750 A.D. in Lanciano, Italy was the first in a series of Eucharistic Miracles over the past 2 millenniums. A Monastic priest doubted whether the body of our Lord was truly present in the consecrated host. As he said the words of consecration, he saw the host turn into flesh and the wine turn into blood. Everything was visible to those in attendance. The flesh to this day is still intact and the blood is divided into five unequal parts which together have the same exact weight as each one does separately.

“Science, aware of its limits, has come to a halt,
Face to face with the impossibility of giving an explanation.”

Similar to the Miracle of Our Lady’s eyes on the tilma of Juan Diego in Guadelupe. There are many Miracles contained with in this very extraordinary Eucharistic Miracle that were waiting to be uncovered in the unfolding of God’s providence over the centuries.

In 1973, the Church gave permission for various studies to be carried out on this Miracle.  The results amazed the scientists who were privileged to participate in the studies. After the results were analyzed in 1976. The Medical commissions of WHO and the UN, published in New York and Geneva the following statement: “Science, aware of its limits, has come to a halt, face to face with the impossibility of giving an explanation.”

The flesh and blood of the Lanciano Miracle are just as fresh as if they had been drawn that very day from a living human being.  The flesh consists of muscular tissue of the myocardium (heart).  The heart arteries and veins can be easily identified as well as the double slender branch of the vagus nerve.  Those who have a medical research background would understand the significance of these findings.

The findings of the Linoli Report 413197 stated: “The conservation of the flesh and blood, left in their natural state for twelve centuries and exposed to the influence of atmospheric and biological elements, remain an extraordinary phenomenon.”

Other immunological studies received with interest in the scientific world indicated with certitude that the flesh and blood are LIVING human tissue. Both the flesh and coagulated blood belong to the same blood type AB. The same blood type on the Shroud of Turin and the type most characteristic of Middle Eastern populations!

Photo © Real Presence Association uploaded by Speramus-We Hope w permisssion

Each of the 5 Clots of coagulated blood pictured weighs 15.85 grams when weighed all together on the scale. And when all the clots are weighed separately, even one smaller in appearance, individually weighed 15.85 grams! This baffled the scientists who had no explanation for the results!  For those with faith this miracle points to what the Council of Trent taught for centuries and the Catechism of the Catholic Church has reaffirmed. Namely, that Christ is entirely present under each species and under the smallest particle of each species. Christ is present whole and entire his flesh and blood, his body, soul, manhood and Godhead!

Miracles within the Miracle
A Silent Warning in the light of Fatima

These other miracles were always present within the Lanciano Miracle. Indicating that God foresaw another time when the lack of faith would be more than a passing doubt by a priest offering Mass! As at Guadelupe, the technologies to uncover these miracles were only available after the Fatima apparitions had taken place. See: From Guadelupe to Fatima a Prophetic Mystery! Guadelupe is linked with Fatima as the Book of Daniel to Revelation!

A Call to Eucharistic Reparation-Fatima Begins and Ends with the Eucharist.  At Fatima in 1916 an angel teaches the children to Adore and make reparation to the Eucharistic Jesus. Most Hoy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost I adore you profoundly and I offer you the most precious body, blood soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which he is offended…..”
In 1916 when the angel appeared to the children of Fatima  these crimes against our Lord in the Holy Eucharist were not prevalent as they were just coming to light in the late 1960’s and 1970’s.

Returning to Fr. Maria Duran in the pamphlet he wrote that he had a non-catholic friend who told him that: “You Catholics must no longer believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament” He said that he assured him that we did and his friend retorted back: “Then you have really grown callous in the way you handle your Eucharistic Services.”

Fr. Duran felt he was referring to those people who disregard the laws of the church and her doctrines making up their own laws and regulations to do as they please. Unfortunately, today there are many and they are more vocal making themselves heard. Giving the wrong impressions and contaminate the faith of others in different degrees.

Despite these people the Church herself has always shown her faith and respect in all her rules and laws given for the care of the most Blessed Sacrament these laws are not what some would say scrupulosity but a matter of detail in love. It is my firm belief that if Catholics do not recover the respect for the Holy Eucharist we are fast preparing our own punishment as pictured in the 3rd Secret of Fatima revealed in 2000.

Remember that St Paul said that whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord; and any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself (See 1 Corinthians 11:27, 29).

This can also be applied to all those sacrilegious communions made by those receiving in mortal sin as well as for Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist who do not take care to carry Our Lord in a dignified manner and make sure that there are no particles remaining in their pyx so that Jesus is not carried into restrooms or other unspeakable places! You are responsible for every lost particle! And the weight of your commission also falls upon your pastor and bishop who are the ordinary ministers of the Eucharist! They will have to account to God for you!

The particles of the Blessed Sacrament are the Eternal, Loving, life-giving Gold of God! Let us make reparation for those who no longer discern the "Hidden Jesus" in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

Feast of Christ the King and His Reign-Reflections on Eucharistic Miracles!

The solemnity of Christ the King is held on the Sunday before Advent. In this feast we honor Jesus Christ as our King of all kings!

Pope Pius XI in establishing this feast addressed Catholic bishops, but he also wanted it to impact the laity:

"The faithful, by meditating upon these truths, will gain much strength and courage, enabling them to form their lives after the true Christian ideal. If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to his dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from his empire. He must reign in our minds, which should assent with perfect submission and firm belief to revealed truths and to the doctrines of Christ. He must reign in our wills, which should obey the laws and precepts of God. He must reign in our hearts, which should spurn natural desires and love God above all things, and cleave to him alone. He must reign in our bodies and in our members, which should serve as instruments for the interior sanctification of our souls, or to use the words of the Apostle Paul, as instruments of justice unto God."

 Christ Reigns in the Eucharist!

As we celebrate the Kingship of Christ I wish to remind everyone that Christ reigns among us today in the Mystery of his Eucharistic presence! Sadly, so few of us act as if this is a reality in our lives. I want to meditate on the fact that God speaks to us in the mystery of His Divine Providence  through the various approved Marian apparitions and  Eucharistic miracles occurring  over the centuries. Beginning as God did in providence with the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano in 750 A.D. This is  first recorded Eucharistic Miracle and the most significant of all the Vatican approved Eucharistic Miracles.

The Miracle of Lanciano in 750 A.D. in historical providence can be linked in with the Shroud of Turin and also with the tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  All three miracles contain ongoing miracles that were not able to be seen at the time the original miracles occurred. They could only be seen later over time when men advanced science and with the technological advances. "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time appointed: many shall pass over, and knowledge shall be manifold." Daniel 12:4

This links the miracles to our times and is a message of God speaking to us to those who have ears to hear. "To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them." Paraphrased: Matthew11-13

The Eucharistic Miracle
of Lanciano 750 A.D.

Science, aware of its limits, came to a halt, faced with the impossibility of giving an explanation!

was the first in a series of Eucharistic Miracles over the past 2 millenniums. A Monastic priest doubted whether the body of our Lord was truly present in the consecrated host. The flesh to this day is still intact and the blood is divided into five unequal parts which together have the same exact weight as each one does separately.

From the very beginning, the local church accepted this miracle as a true sign from heaven, and venerated the Eucharistic Flesh and Blood in processions on its feast day, the last Sunday of October. The fame of the shrine spread throughout the region quickly, and soon all of Italy came to the Church in Pilgrimage.

A plenary indulgence in perpetuity to those who venerate the Eucharistic Miracle during the
8 days preceding the feast day.

Church of the Miracle, Lanciano, Italy
On June 25, 1672, Pope Clement X declared the altar of the Eucharistic Miracle a privileged altar on the Octave day of the deceased and on all Mondays of the year. In 1887, the Archbishop of Lanciano, Monsignore Petarca, obtained from Pope Leo XIII, a plenary indulgence in perpetuity to those who venerate the Eucharistic Miracle during the 8 days preceding the feast day. Reserved on the last Sunday in October.

Scientific Studies

In 1973, the Church gave permission for various studies to be carried out on the Lanciano Eucharistic Miracle.  The results amazed the scientists who were privileged to participate in the studies. Shroud of Turin and the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano  We should also  note that in 1978, a group of scientists from NASA performed an intensive examination on the Shroud of Turin, using all the sophisticated scientific equipment available to our Space Agency at that time.  A very significant discovery was found regarding the blood type on the Shroud. It was AB positive, the same blood type as found in the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano. More and more, science has verified what we have believed in Faith for centurie
Ongoing Miracles within the Miracle

Are Miracles Silent Warnings
in the light of Fatima Message?

The Tilma of Guadelupe,  contained many miracles that  awaited the technology of men to uncover them.  The miracles were always present at the time of its first appearing indicating that God foresaw another time when the lack of faith would be more than a passing doubt by a priest offering Mass! Or the aztec holocausts would later proceed to ABORTION on DEMAND!

The miracles on the Tilma were not discovered until after the Fatima apparitions had taken place. And also the scientific investigations on the Lanciano miracle did not take place until the 1970's. In my opinion God's providence linked both Lanciano and the Guadalupe mystery to Fatima in his providence. See: From Guadelupe to Fatima a Prophetic Mystery!

Fr. Maria Duran in the pamphlet Particles of the Blessed Sacrament the Eternal life giving Gold dust he wrote that he had a non-catholic friend who told him that: “You Catholics must no longer believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament” He said that he assured him that we did and his friend retorted back: “Then you have really grown callous in the way you handle your Eucharistic Services.”
