Fatima Miracle the greatest supernatural event of the 20th century does not belong to domain of faith or science it is an historical event!

The Miracle of the Sun has been characterized as the greatest supernatural occurrence of the 20th century and does not belong to the domain of faith or science it is an historical event!
The miracle of the sun as viewed by so many in other alleged apparitions did not happen in the same extraordinary manner as at Fatima witnessed by everyone present and in a 70 mile radius by believers and unbelievers alike. This was a supernatural event something only God can do. Other similar manifestations of the Miracle of the Sun at other alleged Marian apparitions may be extraordinary to those who witness them but not supernatural in character. These fall in the realm of preternatural or angelic causes. Then we must discern is this from the good angel or a bad angel. The devil has also appeared to mystics as Jesus and Mary. Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Bl. Anna Maria Taggi both stated that if they had not seen Jesus and Mary previously when the devil appeared as such they would have been deceived. According to present church law the bishop of the diocese has the charisma from God to confirm the authenticity and origin of alleged apparitions occurring within their own diocese. God has the power to convince and bring an unbelieving bishop to his knees as he did for Juan Diego when he opened his tilma and presenting a double miracle, Roses out of season cascading to the floor and a miraculous image of Our Lady imprinted on Juan Diego’s Tilma.

Witnesses of the Miracle of the sun, a supernatural historical event, testified to the terrifying nature of the solar miracle.
Maria Carreira stated that: “The sun turned everything in view different colors, yellow, blue, white, and it shook and trembled; it seemed like a wheel of fire which was going to fall on the people. They cried out: 'We shall all be killed, we shall all be killed!’... At last the sun stopped moving and we all breathed a sigh of relief. We were still alive and the miracle which the children had foretold had taken place. Other people witnessed the solar miracle from a distance thus ruling out the possibility of any type of collective hallucination. A final intriguing, and important, point was that the heat of the sun, as it descended on the people, also had the effect of drying their clothes and the ground, so that they went from being completely soaked to being dry in about ten minutes. The people who witnessed this stupendous event were frightened believing that they were all going to die.

                      

The Servant of God Fr. John Hardon S.J. asks: "How Does the Solar Phenomenon Confirm the Message of Fatima?"

"It was no coincidence that the solar phenomenon at Fatima came only several months after the basic message of Fatima had been communicated to the children. The phenomenon had to have a purpose for its occurrence, and the message had to have a divine confirmation of its authenticity. When the phenomenon occurred in October, it was witnessed by thousands of people, friendly and unfriendly, simple believers and professed skeptics, those disposed to believe Our Lady’s message and others who were openly hostile to what the Blessed Virgin was reported to have said. In God’s providence the hostility of the skeptics was necessary to give rational grounds for believing what the children said the beautiful Lady was telling them. All the reports of those who witnessed the spectacle of the sun testify to their stupefaction at what they saw. No one, not even the most hardened agnostic, doubted that what he saw was a prodigy. This was necessary to provide the rational foundation for accepting, on faith, the Marian message of Fatima because of the solar event which everybody had to accept, as a fact, perceived by the senses.

Why, then, was the solar prodigy of Fatima necessary?   It was necessary in order to satisfy our spontaneous need for giving rational credence to what Mary was telling Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. The children did not need the solar phenomenon to believe what Our Lady was telling them. But we do. It is not coincidental that Mary asked her Divine Son to work the miracle at Cana as the first of the signs performed by her Son. Immediately, we are told, his disciples believed in Him. She has been doing the same ever since. As God, He is master of the sun, moon and stars which He created. Her message at Fatima was to tell a sinful world to stop offending the Divine Majesty and to repent of their sins. As at Cana, she asked Jesus to work a miracle. At Cana, as the poet said, the water looked at its Maker and blushed. At Fatima the sun looked at its Maker and whirled in dazzling splendor to acknowledge its Creator." The Third part of the Secret of Fatima took place during the miracle of the sun and was revealed by Bl. John Paul II during the beatification of Jacinta and Francesco Marto.

We learned that during the Miracle of the Sun while everyone was taken up with the solar events the children also witnessed the Angel of God's descending towards the earth crying out three times in a loud voice that thundered  "PENANCE! PENANCE! PENANCE!” Lucia describes what they saw as those around them were taken up with the solar event that authenticated the Fatima Apparitions: Lucia writes: 

"We saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: Pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 

                          

  ‘Penance! Penance! Penance!'

..And we also saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, Religious men and women were going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, Religious men and women, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God."

Sister Lucia already gave us an indication for interpreting the third part of the “secret” in a letter to the Holy Father on May 12, 1982. Here Sr. Lucia writes:

"The third part of the secret is a symbolic revelation, and is conditioned by whether we accept or not what the Message itself asks of us: ‘If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, etc. Since we did not heed this appeal of the Message, we see that it has been fulfilled; Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not yet seen the complete fulfillment of the final part of this prophecy, we are going towards it little by little with great strides. If we do not reject the path of sin, hatred, revenge, injustice, violations of the rights of the human person, immorality and violence, etc. And let us not say that it is God who is punishing us in this way; on the contrary it is people themselves who are preparing their own punishment. In his kindness God warns us and calls us to the right path, while respecting the freedom he has given us; hence the people are responsible”.

For God's faithful in this age of apostasy and perversion, it is more necessary now than ever that we carefully heed the admonitions of the Angel and Our Lady with a sincere amendment of life, and increased prayer.
 
Our Lady asked especially for the five first Saturdays, the daily Rosary with meditation upon the Mysteries, sacrifice of our daily duty, and consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.If we hope to persevere in this age of apostasy, we must take to heart and apply in our daily lives the admonition of the Gospels! UNLESS YE DO PENANCE, YOU SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH! These times do not permit anymore "easy living" for those of us who desire salvation. If we do not reject the spirit of the world, we have chosen it for our master -- if we continue to live by the material standards of our modern society we shall lose our souls "no man can serve two masters"! Such a difficult truth is not easy to accept for us, who live in a society rotting with the cancer of materialism and glorification of the flesh! 

Who is our master? Christ or the world?

 

What daily penance and mortification do we practice so that we will not "likewise PERISH"? In the second apparition of the Angel in 1916 he told the children: “Offer prayers and sacrifices continually to the Most High. Make everything you do a sacrifice, and offer it as an act of reparation for the sins by which God is offended, and as a petition for the conversion of sinners.” If we chose to scorn these warnings of Divine Mercy that Our Lord is giving through his Mother at Fatima we may soon reap the wrath of Divine Justice, for we have freely chosen it! We must purify ourselves or be purified! 

The action of God, the Lord of history, and the co-responsibility of man in the drama of his creative freedom, are the two pillars upon which human history is built.
 
Fatima reminds us that man's future is in God, and that we are active and responsible partners in creating that future. What will that future be? It is up to us what we choose to do today

Pope Francis began his pontificate under the sign of St. Joseph, only those who serve with love are able to protect!

 

March 13, is the first anniversary of the election of Pope Francis in 2013 and these last 365 days of his papacy have been characterized as a “time of mercy”, by the Pope himself. During these last twelve months the Pope who said he was called “from the ends of the earth”  asked us to pray for him.  He is called the “priest of the world”, by his secretary Msgr. Alfred Xuereb who said that the new pope “has not wasted a minute! He works tirelessly and, when he feels the need to take a moment's pause, he closes his eyes and does nothing: he simply sits and prays the Rosary”.  I want to pick out a few highlights that were important to me and indicated the path of Hope the Pope is leading us to travel down. 

I read some where that John Paul II gave us the New Catechism, Benedict XVI explained its meanings and reasons for our faith and Pope Francis is showing us how to live the faith! This is a time for actions not words!

The pontificate of Pope Francis began with his Inaugural Mass on March 19, 2013, under the sign of St. Joseph, father and protector of  the Holy Family and the Church. Also under the sign of St. Francis, whose name he choose, the protector of the earth, and all who are on the earth, the man of peace.


The essential message in the inaugural  homily given by Pope Francis to open his pontificate draws on the image of St. Joseph, spouse of Mary, head of the Holy Family. And that message is to "protect." This message is important at a time when the figure of the person who "protects," be he or she a father, a mother, a priest, a scholar, a leader, is under attack -- in a time when the "protection" is entrusted to others, or to none, when the "protectors" are anonymous, or hidden, or when they simply don't exist. To "protect" means to make sure what one protects is not harmed, not hurt. 

Only those like St Joseph,  

who serve with love are able to protect!

"He must be inspired by the lowly, concrete and faithful service which marked
Saint Joseph and, like him, he must open his arms to protect all of God’s people and embrace with tender affection the whole of humanity, especially the poorest, the weakest, the least important, those whom Matthew lists in the final judgment on love: the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick and those in prison (cf. Mt 25:31-46). Only those who serve with love are able to protect!"

 
"How does Joseph respond to his calling to be the protector of Mary, Jesus and the Church? By being constantly attentive to God, open to the signs of God's presence and receptive to God's plans, and not simply to his own. This is what God asked of David, as we heard in the first reading. God does not want a house built by men, but faithfulness to his word, to his plan. It is God himself who builds the house, but from living stones sealed by his Spirit. Joseph is a "protector" because he is able to hear God's voice and be guided by his will; and for this reason he is all the more sensitive to the persons entrusted to his safekeeping. He can look at things realistically, he is in touch with his surroundings, he can make truly wise decisions. In him, dear friends, we learn how to respond to God's call, readily and willingly, but we also see the core of the Christian vocation, which is Christ! Let us protect Christ in our lives, so that we can protect others, so that we can protect creation!"
"....Whenever human beings fail to live up to this responsibility, whenever we fail to care for creation and for our brothers and sisters, the way is opened to destruction and hearts are hardened. Tragically, in every period of history there are “Herod's” who plot death, wreak havoc, and mar the countenance of men and women."

This emphasis on "protecting" also seems to recall a passage in the Book of Revelation which focuses on "not hurting," that is, protecting.
In Chapter 7 of Revelation, an angel ascends from the east, bearing "the seal of the living God." The angel cried out in a "loud voice" to the other "angels," who had been "hurting" the earth. Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. Rev.7:3


"To protect Jesus with Mary, to protect the whole of creation, to protect each person, especially the poorest, to protect ourselves: this is a service that the Bishop of Rome is called to carry out, yet one to which all of us are called, so that the star of hope will shine brightly. The Pope asked Our Lady to help him during his pontificate and also for the prayers of all Christians
Looking back on this first year of Surprises, the Pope  has shown a great devotion to Mary, since the very first day of his pontificate. One of the first things he did in the inauguration of his papacy was to ask Our Lady to help him during his pontificate and for the prayers of all Christians.

Divine providence choose the 13th of the month to elect him to the papacy. Perhaps it is an indication that his papacy was under the protection of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima. He requested that the Statue be brought  from Portugal to the Vatican, who  consecrated his papacy to her and also renewed the consecration of the the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on October 13th, 2013.

 
The Holy Father received the statue on the afternoon of Saturday, October 12th,  followed by a Marian talk. On Sunday, October 13th, the Pope offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the presence of the Fatima Statue. After the Mass the pope recited the following Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary before the Angelus.

Benedict XVI joins Pope Francis in consecrating Vatican to St Michael Archangel and St. Joseph!!

(Vatican Radio) To the joy of Vatican City State workers, Friday morning Pope Francis was joined by Pope emeritus Benedict XVI in the gardens for a ceremony during which the Holy Father blessed a statue of St Michael Archangel, at the same time consecrating the Vatican to the Archangel’s protection.

Following a brief ceremony, Pope Francis addressed those present noting how St. Michael defends the People of God from its enemy par excellence, the devil. He said even if the devil attempts to disfigure the face of the Archangel and thus the face of humanity, St Michael wins, because God acts in him and is stronger:

"In the Vatican Gardens there are several works of art. But this, which has now been added, takes on particular importance, in its location as well as the meaning it expresses. In fact it is not just celebratory work but an invitation to reflection and prayer, that fits well into the Year of Faith. Michael - which means "Who is like God" - is the champion of the primacy of God, of His transcendence and power. Michael struggles to restore divine justice and defends the People of God from his enemies, above all by the enemy par excellence, the devil. And St. Michael wins because in him, there is He God who acts. This sculpture reminds us then that evil is overcome, the accuser is unmasked, his head crushed, because salvation was accomplished once and for all in the blood of Christ.

"We also consecrate Vatican City State to St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus, the guardian of the Holy Family. May his presence make us stronger and more courageous in making space for God in our lives to always defeat evil with good. We ask Him to protect, take care of us, so that a life of grace grows stronger in each of us every day. "

The Pope in  June also approved a new addition to the Latin Rite Mass. The name of St. Joseph, will be included after the usual prayer to the Virgin Mary in all of the Eucharistic Prayers in the in the 3rd edition of the Missale Romanum.
 

The Decree of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments was made public on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. The decree was promulgated on May 1, 2013, the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. The Decree mandates the insertion of the name of St. Joseph in the Prayer offered by every Catholic priest in the world when they offer Eucharistic Prayers II, III, and IV during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. St. Joseph is already included in Eucharistic Prayer I.

"Like Saint Joseph, the hope that we bring is set against the horizon of God, which has opened up before us in Christ."-Pope Francis

"In the second reading, Saint Paul speaks of Abraham, who, "hoping against hope, believed" (Rom 4:18). Hoping against hope! Today too, amid so much darkness, we need to see the light of hope and to be men and women who bring hope to others. To protect creation, to protect every man and every woman, to look upon them with tenderness and love, is to open up a horizon of hope; it is to let a shaft of light break through the heavy clouds; it is to bring the warmth of hope! For believers, for us Christians, like Abraham, like Saint Joseph, the hope that we bring is set against the horizon of God, which has opened up before us in Christ. It is a hope built on the rock which is God.

Pope Francis also mentioned Benedict XVI who was celebrating his name day. (name days are celebrated in Italy almost like a birthday). He was baptized Joseph Ratzininger. "I thank the Lord that I can celebrate this Holy Mass for the inauguration of my Petrine ministry on the solemnity of Saint Joseph, the spouse of the Virgin Mary and the patron of the universal Church. It is a significant coincidence, and it is also the name-day of my venerable predecessor: we are close to him with our prayers, full of affection and gratitude."

Are the same that he used as bishop. The shield has a bright blue background, at the centre top of which is a yellow radiant sun with the IHS christogram on it representing Jesus (it is also the Jesuit logo). The IHS monogram, as well as a cross that pierces the H, are in red with three black nails directly under them. Under that, to the left, is a star representing Mary, Mother of Christ and the Church. To the right of the star is a nard flower representing Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church. With these symbols the Pope demonstrates his love for the Holy Family.What distinguishes his coat of arms as pontiff is that, instead of the wide-brimmed, red cardinal's hat atop the shield, it is now crowned by the papal tiara and crossed keys.

                                       

His motto—“miserando atque eligendo”

(because he saw him through the eyes of mercy and chose him)—is taken from the Venerable Bede's homily on the Gospel account of the call of Matthew. It holds special meaning for the Pope because—when he was only 17-years-old, after going to confession on the Feast of St. Matthew in 1953—he perceived God's mercy in his life and felt the call to the priesthood, following the example of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

With humble hearts, we pray to Thee, O Lord, that, in Thy goodness, Thou wouldst grant to the Holy Roman Church a Sovereign Pontiff who shall be ever pleasing in Thy sight, on account of his tender solicitude for us, and ever reverenced by Thy people, on account of his salutary rule unto the glory of Thy name. For all those who can watch the Mass on television or  internet, at 10 am March 12th, Rome time, and also for all those who are merely able to spare a thought & prayer for what is going on in Rome, please  pray for the 115 men who during the next few days will have the task of discerning the will of the Holy Spirit for the Church in electing our next Pope, and also for that man – whoever he may be – who will take on this superhuman burden for the sake of God and humankind. After they process to the Sistine chapel  we will wait, maybe several days, until the Cardinal Protodeacon Jean-Louis Tauran (unless he is elected himself) appears on the balcony to proclaim to the city and the world:"Habemous Papam: We have a pope! 



Daily Schedule for 2013 Conclave

From Rome Reports: The Cadinal's set schedule will officially begin on Tuesday at 7 a.m., when the cardinals are required to move in to Domus Santae Marthae for the duration of the conclave, and will end until a new Pope is chosen.

 Next Full-day schedule for the Conclave:
6:30 a.m.: Breakfast for one hour
7:45 a.m.: Depart from Hotel to Apostolic
Palace
8:15 a.m.: Hour-long Mass at Pauline Chapel
9:30 a.m.: First two rounds of voting inside
Sistine Chapel
12:30 p.m.: Return to Santa Marta
1:00 p.m.: Lunch
4:00 p.m.: Depart from Hotel to Apostolic Palace
4:50 p.m.: Remaining two rounds of voting
inside Sistine Chapel
7:15 p.m.: Vespers (prayer) at Sistine Chapel
7:30 p.m.: Return to Santa Marta

Asking St Joseph to Help

Cardinals Elect New Pope

St Joseph the protector and guardian of Our Lord and Our Lady, is also invoked as the Patron of the Universal Church in recognition of his strength and fortitude. God the father gave St. Joseph the most exalted duty of protecting the Sacred Humanity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who would redeem mankind and endow it with the most perfect and ultimate gift of Eternal Life through His Passion death and resurrection. To fulfill His Divine mission, God the Father entrusted His Son to the paternal care of St. Joseph.  St. Joseph is the epitome of a pure man: pure in thought, pure in heart; pure in body and soul – destined to be the most chaste spouse of Mary Most Holy conceived without sin. 

 The Catholic Church, born from the water that gushed forth from Jesus' side, and nurtured by the maternal love of Our Lady, sought comfort and protection from the snares and malice of Satan and his followers in the hands of St. Joseph, the terror of demons! We can expect that God also endowed him with an equally proportional grace to carry out such a mission in life. In a post from his blog on Wednesday, Cardinal Dolan said that he would be beginning a novena to St. Joseph on Monday, March 11th, nine days before St. Joseph's March 19th feast. He invited the faithful to join him in praying for discernment in for the Cardinals in the election of the new
pope.

Saint Joseph, you are the faithful protector and intercessor of all who love and venerate you. I have special confidence in you. You are powerful with God and will never abandon your faithful servants. I humbly invoke you and commend myself, with all who are dear to me, to your intercession. O Glorious Saint Joseph, spouse of the immaculate Virgin, Foster-father of Jesus Christ, obtain for me a pure, humble, and charitable mind, and perfect resignation to the Divine Will.
